The Manhattan Beach 10k has been passionate about health and fitness since it was founded during the running boom of 1978! We have 42 years of history to reminisce and celebrate, the excitement of a 2020 Special Edition Race, and look forward to the years ahead. With this in mind, our MB10k race shirt is ‘throwback nouveau’ combining the design of 1982 with an updated logo for 2020.

The first Saturday of October, thousands of participants take to the streets of Manhattan Beach, passing through neighborhoods lined with cheering spectators, live bands along the course, and finishing steps from the iconic Manhattan Beach Pier. For many participants, the MB10k isn’t just another race on the calendar — it’s something they come back for year after year.
It’s official — online registration for the 49th Annual Manhattan Beach 10k is now open.
After selling out the last three years, the MB10k continues to be one of Southern California’s most anticipated road races, drawing runners of all ages and abilities to the streets of Manhattan Beach each fall. From the buzz of downtown, to the neighborhood support along the course, and a finish line at the iconic Manhattan Beach Pier, the MB10k delivers an experience that goes far beyond race day.

On Thursday, August 1, we will be raising prices for the 47th Annual Manhattan Beach 10k by $5! The race takes place on October 5th. While the fall seems far from our minds as we are enjoying the dog days of summer, that is shockingly just over two months aways. If you have been thinking about running or walking it, now is the time to sign up and save yourself a few bucks. If you’ve already signed up, encourage your friends and family to join you.

For those of you who have a teen in the house, you know what IRL means. For the rest of us it means, in real life. This year, we are debuting the 2024 Manhattan Beach 10k Finisher Tee IRL! Stop by our expo booth at the Village Runner 4th of July Race to get a firsthand look at it on race morning. We’ll be set up behind the Start/Finish on S. Catalina Ave, near Palos Verdes Boulevard. We’ll also have our popular photo booth props on-hand to take some memorable pics!
Each year, thanks to our race participants, we have the privilege to award scholarships to seniors from Mira Costa High School. We have given over $520,000 back to Manhattan Beach schools including $212,000 in college scholarships. These 2024 recipients were chosen for having an impressive academic record, strong community service and volunteer work, and a commitment to fitness related activity (including running) and a healthy lifestyle.
