Secure Your Spot for Year 49

Every year, it starts the same way — a ton of early registrations, a little buzz, and then it just keeps building. Friends start texting. Run clubs make plans. People who said, “Maybe this year,” finally sign up. Before long, race day isn’t just on the calendar — it’s something you’re part of. That’s how the Manhattan Beach 10K comes together, year after year.

Registration for the 49th Annual MB0k is underway, and early interest has been strong for the October 3rd race.

Based on recent years, we expect spots to fill quickly. The race has sold out the last three consecutive years.

Community Spotlight: Yoshiko & Russell

One of the best parts of the MB10K is seeing new faces step up to the start line — especially those who are deeply rooted in the South Bay.

This year, we’re spotlighting first-time racers Yoshiko Oest and Russell Nomura.

What made this the year you decided to run the MB10K?
We ran the Redondo Beach Super Bowl 10k, and afterwards, we were craving another run to work toward and keep us consistent.

What are you most looking forward to on race day?
We’re excited to be part of the community. We’re running the 10k with a lot of our friends from our running club, and we’re looking forward to the race day energy and getting to experience a new course.

What makes the South Bay community so special to you?
It’s the people. There’s a strong sense of connection here, where small businesses support each other and neighbors show up for one another. We love how hard local business owners work and how they continue to show up for the community. It feels both close-knit and welcoming.

How are you getting ready for your first MB10k?
We’ve been staying consistent with our Saturday runs and mixing in a few midweek runs when we can.

What do you think it’s going to feel like running that final stretch to the pier?
Probably a mix of excitement and relief.

Bonus: What’s on your MB10k playlist right now?
A mix depending on the day, but a few on repeat are “I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’,” “Brokenhearted,” “Harlem,” “Word Up,” “Shake It,” and “Golden.” Russ has been listening to a lot of reggae on his runs.
