A South Bay Tradition Nearly 50 Years Running
For nearly five decades, the Manhattan Beach 10k has been more than just a race — it’s a hometown tradition.
The first Saturday of October, thousands of participants take to the streets of Manhattan Beach, passing through neighborhoods lined with cheering spectators, live bands along the course, and finishing steps from the iconic Manhattan Beach Pier. For many participants, the MB10k isn’t just another race on the calendar — it’s something they come back for year after year.
That’s one of the reasons the race has sold out three consecutive years.
Some racers come for the challenge of the course. Others come for the energy of race morning. Many return simply because the MB10k has become part of their fall tradition — a day when the community comes together around running, music, and celebration.
And with a field limited to 4,000 participants, once registration fills, that’s it.
As we look ahead to the 49th Annual Manhattan Beach 10k this October 3rd, we’re excited to welcome both longtime participants and first-time racers back to the starting line.
If you’ve run it before, you already know. If you haven’t yet, this is the year to experience it.
