The MB10k Has So Much To Be Thankful For
Message From MB10k Race Director, Rachel Judson
The MB10k was founded on promoting health and fitness in 1978. That passion has inspired our volunteer organized race for 43 years, and we love the stories that many of our over 1,400 'Run Your Own Race' participants shared with us this year. From little Belmont, Michigan to Bahrain, from toddlers to seniors, to first timers to 43 year finishers, thank you for sharing your stories. We learned our beach reaches far beyond the sand in 90266. Reminiscing about years prior, and hearing what a special place the MB10k holds in the hearts of many, makes all the hours we as volunteers put into the race worth every second. Know our plan is to be back as both a live and “virtual” event for the years to come. Be ready to lace up one way or another in 2021!
10 Days of 10k Is Going Strong!
While registration has closed for this year’s Special Edition of the Manhattan Beach 10k, we are in the midst of our 10 days of 10k! It has been such a treat to see runners and walkers, like this father-son family team pictured above, from near and far finding creative ways to make the race their own.
10 Days of 10k Is Here
The time has come for you to Run Your Own Race for the 43rd Annual Manhattan Beach 10k! You are in control and get to tailor it for yourself - your course, your way, your time. We are excited to see all the places you run or walk for this Special Edition. Give us a shout on social and let us know what your plans are, tag us with #runyourownrace, for any family teams be sure to use #familyteam.

In addition to staffing our booths at the Hometown Fair, we have 15 parent volunteers helping out with the race and they always have a great time with the entire 10k staff and committee members!”

Mira Costa Choir
For the past several years the Mira Costa Choir has sung the National Anthem prior to the start of each race. While we won’t get to hear them live this year, they have recorded a beautiful version that we can all still enjoy! Over the past three weeks, students each recorded their choir part for the National Anthem. They rehearsed it online (with students only hearing themselves over Zoom). Please click on the video above to give it a listen.
“Our choirs are much more exciting in person, but I'm proud to submit this {video} as a result of our first efforts teaching the students how to make decent recordings of themselves at home, that can be combined into a virtual choir. I hope the runners enjoy this unique version of the National Anthem. It's become a very special tradition for us.”
Mark McCormick
If you’d like to help the choir with their programs, you can make a donation to do so by clicking the button below.
