2024 Event Details
Come join us for the 47th annual Manhattan Beach 10k on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 7:30 am. Experience one of the most scenic 10k courses in the South Bay with live music, and post race expo at the finish line! Over 4,000 runners will take to the streets for this moderate to slightly difficult course through downtown and residential Manhattan Beach, finishing at the Manhattan Beach Pier. This year the MB10K is designated as the RRCA Western Regional 10K Championship!
There is no race day registration!

Live Event Information
Start
7:30am sharp! Our split start is located at Ardmore Ave & 4th Street and Valley Drive & 3rd Street, in Manhattan Beach. Both groups head north until they merge at 15th Street (1/2 mile).
Finish
The 6.2-mile race finishes just south of the Manhattan Beach Pier, in the lower parking lot.
Timing
The overall winner and top 3 will be determined by gun time (not chip time). Age group (AG), family teams and 200+ winners will be determined by chip time.
Electronic chip timing is the most accurate timing system available and allows your time to start when you reach the starting line, instead of when the gun goes off. We use Electronic Timing. You will find the pre-activated timing strip on the back of your race bib. Do not fold or remove this strip. Age group awards are determined by chip time.
There is no alternative timing system and participants must be in the starting area at 7:30am gun time, as the timing mats are not left on indefinitely. Because our course doubles back on itself, the START mats must be turned off shortly after the start. Participants must cross the START mat to record a start time, and this must be done within the first few minutes of the race in order to be included in the results.
Number Pick-Up
Bring your confirmation email, or send it with a friend, printed or electronic, no photo ID necessary at Village Runner - Manhattan Beach the Wednesday, Thursday & Friday prior to the race, or 6:30am-7:15am Race Day by the start line.
T-Shirts
For live event, you can pick up your shirt at the finish line race morning using your bib number. If you are one of the first 1,000 participants to register, you are guaranteed your shirt size/style on race morning, up until the finish line is broken down. The guarantee is over once the shirts move to Village Runner MB, post race. Note if you are not one of the first 1,000 to register, shirt sizes/styles are first come, first serve.
Individual Age Divisions
Awards go to the top 10 finishers in the following individual age divisions (male & female) : 9-11, 12-14, 15-17, 18-23, 24-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+
Awards
First 10 places in each division, including family teams and 200+lbs. Special awards go to the 1st Manhattan Beach resident (male & female). Awards presentation takes place as soon as results are in for top finishers. Awards stage is located on Manhattan Beach Blvd at Ocean Drive.
All youth under age 9 who complete the entire course receive a ribbon (but are NOT announced at the awards ceremony).
Family Teams
We offer family team categories comprised of TWO runners each:
brother-brother
brother-sister
sister-sister
mother-son
mother-daughter
father-son
father-daughter
grandparent-grandchild
Medals will be awarded to the top 10 combined finishing times in each team category. There is no fee to be entered as a team and team members do not need to run together. Once you have your Race Bibs in hand, you'll be able to sign up for Family Teams.
For in store registration, you may register as a Family Team beginning in September. After both runners have registered, use this link, and follow instructions. For Online registration, once you pick up your bib numbers within the 3 days prior to race day at Village Runner, Manhattan Beach, you can enter as a family team as you need your race numbers to complete the entry. Family Team entry ends at 8pm the night before the race.
There is no fee to be entered as a Family Team.
200+lbs
We offer a 200+lbs division (male & female) with medals awarded to the top 10 finishers. There is no fee to be entered into the 200lbs+ division.
Once you have your Race Bibs in hand, you'll be able to sign up for 200+lbs division. See Family Teams (above) for details.
Race Day Expo
Visit our race day expo to sample products and services from our many sponsors! Located in the parking lots above the FINISH line, it's a great place to connect with friends and snap some pics before the awards presentation.
Safety
Due to extreme risk to other runners/walkers, we cannot allow dogs or strollers on the course. Your understanding is much appreciated.
Volunteer Opportunities
The MB10k is completely volunteer-run and profits go to local fitness-related recreation projects and student athlete scholarships. Virtual Race Option
Prefer to Run Your Own Race? You can still join us virtually! Your registration will include a shirt and a virtual bib which will be emailed to you after race day!
Virtual race shirt pick up will be at Village Runner - Manhattan Beach. You can also opt to have your shirt mailed to you for a fee, simply select the mailing option in your registration. You must select the mailing option for each shirt if you're registering multiple people.
